Rich Rodriguez's 2010 destination? Um, hell no.

Football:

• Idiocy, Now in Print — Maize n Brew — Beauford over at MnB absolutely dismantles this idiotic article by Dave Poe of the Parkersburg News & Sentinel, which suggests that this will be Rich Rodriguez’s last season as Michigan’s coach, and Marshall would be a sensible next destination for RichRod. Please excuse me while I collect pieces of my brain from the corners of my room.
• WMU lands heralded lineman Dann O’Neill, who transfers from Michigan — Kalamazoo Gazette — So yeah, it’s official. O’Neill is off to K-Zoo. Best of luck to him at Western. I have nothing else to add, as he is no longer a Wolverine, and like RichRod, I try to save my breath for guys who are actually on the team.
• Five nonconference games to fear in the Big Ten — ESPN.com — Adam Rittenberg says the Western Michigan game, U-M’s opener, could potentially be very dangerous for the Wolverines, and I can’t disagree. WMU has a proven quarterback in Tim Hiller, and Tate Forcier will likely be making his first career collegiate start. However, I still think Michigan will pull this one out, though it may be uncomfortably close.
• OT Henderson names four of five official visits — ESPN.com — Seantrel Henderson will “definitely” be visiting Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC and Florida, according to his father, Sean. Florida State is also mentioned as a strong possibility for the fifth visit. Henderson still lists Michigan as a school he is considering, but without an official visit, I think we can pretty much write off any hope of landing the No. 1 recruit in the country.
• Putting Prater at QB — Chicago Sun-Times — Hillside (IL) Proviso West’s Kyle Prater, Rivals.com’s No. 3 wide receiver in the Class of 2010, is looking to play a little quarterback in his senior season. I doubt this affects his collegiate position at all, but it adds an interesting wrinkle to his skill set if he’s able to be a dynamite wideout with a passable arm. Video of Prater playing both quarterback and wide receiver in practice is at the end of the article. Michigan remains in Prater’s top 10.
• All-Time Rivals100: Nos. 91-100 — Rivals.com — Rivals is picking their all-time Top 100 based on the actual collegiate careers of the players at each spot in the Rivals100 since 2002 (when their recruiting rankings started). Michigan figures heavily into the first segment, with Terrence Taylor (Class of 2005) taking the No. 96 spot. QB Matt Gutierrez (2002), S Ryan Mundy (2003), and OL Brett Gallimore (2004) all landed at Michigan from the same ranking as Taylor, and DT Adam Patterson (2006) and WR Toney Clemons (2007) both were the No. 91 overall player in their class. So yes, recruiting can be a bit of a crapshoot.

Hockey:

• The Jerseys Aren’t Changing — The Blog That Yost Built — Great news from TBTYB, who says reliable sources maintain that Michigan will wear the same jerseys — including the spectacular white throwbacks — that they wore last year, despite different jerseys being sold at the new official Michigan store.
